Hastelloy alloys and their applications

Hastelloy®, the name of Hastelloy alloy, is a trademark of Haynes International (formerly Haynes Stellite Works). This one is made of HA in HAYNES,STELL in STELLITE and OY in ALLOYS. The first Hastelloy alloy invented by Haynes was Hastelloy® B, used in aircraft rocket nozzles. Following B alloy Hastelloy® C alloy has been rapidly and widely used in chemical industry. In addition to playing a major role in various chemical and petrochemical industries, the alloy has also been used in the nuclear energy industry and pharmaceutical industry. Haynes then went on to develop the Hastelloy® X alloy with excellent high temperature resistance and achieved great success. With the rapid growth of the jet industry at the time, this alloy became the engine manufacturer of choice. Some torches in the petrochemical industry are also made from it.
